On April 4, 2013, Harold B. Ash passed away. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Mr. Ash was a World War II Veteran in the Army Signal Corps serving in the Pacific including the Battle of Iwo Jima. For his service, he was the recipient of the American Service, the Asiatic-Pacific, the Good Conduct and the World War II Victory Medals. Harold was a skilled carpenter and later became a general contractor. A life long Phillies fan, he was also an avid bowler for several decades. Mr. Ash was a devoted husband and father and his passion was spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Priscilla (nee MacDonald). He is lovingly survived by his wife, Ruth (nee Harrop); his daughter, Susan Burten and her husband, Michael of Barrington; his son, James and his wife, Diane of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; his grandchildren, Paige Burten of Barrington, David Ash of Plymouth, MA and Meghan Ash of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ where his funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors will take place at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
