Joseph Minniti Obituary

MINNITI, Dr. Joseph C. D.O. on April 26, 2011 in his 90th year, son of the late Carmelo and Stefania Minniti, he died in Delaware County Hospital, ironically the hospital he opened in 1960 as a practicing physician. He was a Captain in the Air Force in WWII serving in the 47Sth Bomb Squadron as a Navigator, a life-long Philadelphian. Dr. Minniti had practices in Northeast Philadelphia and Gibbstown, New Jersey. Survived by his children Carl, Joseph, Gregory, Michael, BeeJay, Heather and Matthew; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brothers Dr. Alex, Dr. Carl, Vincent, Rev. Anthony, Rev. David and the late John Minniti; sisters Nicki Marucci and the late Laura Donato and 30 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing on Sunday evening May 1, 2011 at 7 P.M. from THE EDWARD J. PETNER FUNERAL HOME (Family Owned and Operated), 6421 Frankford Ave. at Levick St. (215)338-1466 followed by his Religious Service 8:30 P.M. on Monday, May 2, 2011. Funeral Procession will leave the Funeral Home at 8:15 A.M. for full Military Interment at U.S. National Cemetery, Washington Crossing, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation be sent to The Cancer Foundation for Personal, Appearance Inc. at 905 W. Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08002.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Joseph. All of you are in our hearts and prayers. We have many fond memories of the Minniti family, going back to being neighbors on Capitol St., Paulsboro.
