AGE: 99 Years • Mt. Laurel
Margaret B. "Peggy" Eichel passed away on March 15, 2014. Born in the desert Southwest where her Delaware parents Herbert and Ella Fisher had traveled, she carried their independent and creative spirit throughout her life. She outlived husband Clarence J. Eichel, daughter Carol Ann Blackwell and son Dennis J. Eichel. She leaves behind son Lary Eichel, 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
Peggy was a graduate of Peirce College, a member of the Hospital Auxiliary of Virtua West Jersey Hospital, and a former Secretary to the Women's Board. Talented and artistic, she was a skilled seamstress and excellent cook. She made ceramic pieces for practical use and decoration at home. She was an avid gardener, bringing the beauty of flowers to those around her. She created handmade dolls and angels. She taught her kids to cook, clean, and sew; passing on what she learned from her rugged beginnings. She wanted us not to mourn, but to care for one another. She named herself "Moppie" to the grandchildren, but by any name, family and friends will deeply miss Margaret "Peggy" Eichel.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Sunday, March 23 from 6 to 8 PM and Monday, March 24 from 10 to 11 AM at the Eichel Funeral Home 8323 Maple Avenue in Pennsauken. Service begins at 11 AM. Interment follows at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. Peggy contributed to many charities.
