Elizabeth (Betty) Pifer (nee Paul) age 98, formerly of Haddon Heights and North Port, FL, passed away on March 8, 2014 at the Masonic Home in Burlington, N.J. She was born on October 14, 1915 to the late William and Elsie Paul. She was the devoted wife of the late Roy J. Pifer. Loving mother of Jim and daughter-in-law Betty Ann Pifer of Colts Neck, N.J., Betty Ann Young and the late Elmer Young of Maple Shade. Beloved grandmother of David (Rosemarie) Young, Joseph (Kelly) Young & Kimberley Young, great-grandmother of David, Douglas, Ryan, Nicholas, Sean, Lindsay, and Brandon, sister-in-law to Rita Harper, the late Robert Harper, and Elwood (Dolores) Pifer. She is also survived by her cousin Jeannie Protich of Maple Shade.
Betty and her parents, William and Elsie Paul, were founding members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Maple Shade. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Myakka Golf Club in Englewood, FL, and the Living Waters Lutheran Church in North Port, FL. Betty's smile and Christian values will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. She was very involved with her family and was known for the wonderful meals she prepared. Everyone was always welcome to her table. She was a talented pianist and enjoyed arts and crafts. She will always be in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 2 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 S. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade, NJ 08052. Internment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to the church or the Masonic Home of N.J. 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, N.J. 08016.
