Helga R. Devenny, 91, of Atco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. She was born and raised in Leipzig, Germany to the late Walter and Agnes Rosenberg. It was there that she met Msgt Thomas Devenny Sr., whom she fell in love with and emigrated to the United States, where she raised her beloved family. Helga was a strong, determined, hard working woman, which led her to become an executive secretary at Macy's Department Store in Cherry Hill. She loved gardening and the outdoors. Helga was also a fabulous cook, leaving behind many wonderful German recipes. She was a wonderful mother and loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She will be sadly missed.
Helga is predeceased by her husband Thomas Devenny Sr. in 1999 and brother Dr. Horst Rosenberg. She leaves behind to carry on her legacy, her devoted children Terry Goldberg and husband Chuck of Voorhees, Carol Scott and husband George of Evesham Twp., and Thomas Devenny Jr. and wife Angela of Cedarbrook; her cherished grandchildren, Erika, Michael, Tommy, Carly and Chad; as well as her granddogs, Izzy and Ziggy.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 10-11AM, followed by an 11AM Funeral Service at Inglesby & Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken NJ 08109.
