George E. Colander

AGE: 83 • Pennsauken

George E. Colander, 83, of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. He was born in Bennett, Wisconsin, to the late George and Ebba Colander. George proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, from 1954-1956 in the United States Air Force. He went on to work as an electric engineer for RCA in Camden.

George leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his beloved wife Arlene Colander of Pennsauken; daughter Linda Colander and boyfriend Marc of Pennsauken; sons David Colander and wife Kimberly of Midlothian, VA and James Colander of Pennsauken; grandchildren Amy, Jennifer and Rebecca; great grandchild Dylan; sister Elsie Heins of Kent, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 9-10AM, followed by a 10AM Funeral Service at Temple Lutheran Church, 5600 U.S. 130, Pennsauken NJ 08110. George will be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Temple Lutheran Church.
