Mrs. Wlodarczyk: I am one of Ed's classmates from the 14th Company. The last time my wife, Joanie, and I saw him was at our class reunion in 2003 at San Diego. We remember the evening welll because Ed and I had too much fun and Joanie had to flag down a Midshipman to get us back to the hotel. We have all lost a great Sailor, classmate and friend too soon! We shall miss him!

Mrs Wlodarczyk, I am another of Ed's USNA classmates -- and fellow Jersey guy -- from the class of 1970. Ed was a kind and warmhearted person. I last saw him at our San Diego reunion in 2003 and had been anxious to see him again ever since. The thought that he will not be there to share a laugh with at any future reunions is very sad. I will miss him.

Mrs. Wlodarczyk: I am one of Ed's company mates from the 14th Company class of 1970. He was a great friend and shipmate. I saw him last at the Army/Navy game reunion in San Diego. He was his same old self made of wit, wisdom, and always good wishes for all of us. I shall miss him very much.

Ed was my room mate at the Naval Academy in 1969-70. We played baseball together for the NAVY team and I was often privileged to be Ed's catcher. He was a pitcher with a fantastic curve ball. Rest in peace, my dear friend. T. W. McKinsey

Dear Mrs. Wlodarczyk and Janet, My heart goes out to you! You lost a wonderful son and brother. I was Ed's classmate in the scientific academic program. We had almost all of our classes together. I went to all of his basketball games. I was his date for the senior prom. I was so happy to see him again at the 45-year reunion! And so sorry that I had lost touch with him after high school. Remember always the good times! I am sure that he is smiling down on us all from heaven. Fondest regards,
Charlie Muehlhof

Mrs. Wlodarczyk, I have such wonderful memories of my friend Ed. He was a dear, kind man and I enjoyed seeing him at reunions when I was able to come home.
We always seemed to find time to talk together both of our lives and also of our memories.
He will remain in my thoughts and you will remain in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Vicki Miller Cohen

I played with Ed on the baseball team at Rutgers Camden before he received his appointment to the Naval Academy. He was a serious and quiet gentleman. It didn't take long to realize how special he was as a person. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of Eddie, my high school classmate and friend. Years ago, I had the privilege of dining with Eddie aboard his ship when it was docked at Pearl Harbor. He was so proud as he showed me all around. An officer and a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.
