Deacon Paul Michael Parchinski

AGE: 70 • West Deptford

Went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 29, 2012. He was 70 years of age.

Legacy

The Lord blessed Paul in two ways: to connect with a deep love and compassion for everyone he met and to have a great sense of humor; that coupled with his warm smile, genuine ways and the passion for the word of God, helped him to make friends easily. Born in Blakely, PA and raised in Chester, Paul started from humble beginnings. He graduated from Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE in 1960. He then graduated from the Drexel Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. The New Jersey Zinc Company in Gloucester City was the first to employ him in 1967. From there he traveled to Novara, Italy where he worked with Montecontini Edison until 1971. Returning state side, he found employment with Seaview Petroleum, Paulsboro in 1971. Then employed with CITGO Petroleum until he retired in 2001 as Senior Environmental Advisor. Paul was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineering. Paul loved to sing. His Bass voice was familiar in St. Patrick's Church Choir, Camden Diocesan Choir, Cathedral Singers of Camden; as well as the Jubilate Deo Chorale. A higher calling asked Paul to study and become an ordained deacon in the Camden Diocese on June 11, 2005. His life would never be the same. As a ministry of love and compassion, Paul, through the word of God, served the needs of the sick and elderly for years at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Brightview Assisted Living, Woodbury Mews and Sterling Assisted Living. Paul cherished his duties as a deacon; performing Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and serving during Holy Mass. He truly had a passion for working with the elderly, sick and homebound; who often became very close friends with Paul. In addition to being completely devoted to his beloved wife Patricia, he enjoyed history and traveling.

Family

He is the beloved husband of 21 years to Patricia R. (nee North); dear brother-in-law of Pauline Parchinski of Gettysburg, PA, Ann North and Joseph North both of West Deptford.
