Joseph J. Schipske (Polish Name Papszcki) Sr., 82, of Franklinville, NJ, peacefully passed on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at his home with his loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, Joseph has been a resident of Franklinville for over fifty years. Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War reaching the status of Sergeant. He received the Korean Service Medal, 3 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. Joseph attended Trenton Junior College then graduated from Glassboro State Teachers College in 1957 where he also played soccer and met his future wife. He obtained a Master of Science Degree from Glassboro State College. Joseph dedicated his life to teaching children to read for over 37 years and retired from Gloucester Township Public School District as a reading specialist. He was also a committed member of South Jersey Soccer Officials Association in which he officiated throughout South Jersey High Schools for over 35 years.
Beloved husband of the late Monica (nee Bridgeton). Devoted father Joseph John Schipske Jr., Mary Beth Hobbs, Timothy J. (Carol B.) Schipske, Monica Pat (Robert) Brady. Dear brother of Catherine Phillips, Loretta Sutton, Albert Schipske, and Donald Schipske. Loving grandfather of Jason, Joshua, Timothy Jr., Kelsey, Alexander, Emilee and Meghan.
Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph's viewings on Monday 7:00-9:00PM and Tuesday 10:30-11:30AM at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's Church, Main St. and Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Interment with Military Honors Hillcrest Cemetery, Hurffville, NJ.
