Daniel Joseph Pisko, Sr.

AGE: 82 • Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Barrington

Daniel Joseph Pisko, Sr., 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Barrington, New Jersey, has fought and lost a courageous battle with multiple cancers.

He was born June 18, 1932 in Delair, NJ and graduated from Palmyra High School. He served in the US Navy and reached the rank of Quartermaster Second Class in 1955 and received a National Defense Service Ribbon, UN Medal for Good Conduct, Navy Occupation Service Medal and a Korean Medal. He proudly went to sea to keep us safe. Dan went on to work multiple jobs to support his family, including helping his father install windows, odd jobs, delivering uniforms, and working for UPS. Soon to start his own business D.P. Maintenance, buying, fixing and selling homes, then running a large industrial park in Westville, NJ.

An independent person, always fixing something that could not be fixed. He loved the sun, the outdoors and fishing, especially with his close friend Bob Lauber. He was a Past President of the Sons of Italy, in Camden, New Jersey. He retired to Port Charlotte, Florida, where he has lived for the past 18 years.

He is survived by the love of his life for the past 27 years, Priscilla Carroll, who stood by him through all his years of battling cancer; step-sons, Charles (Sally) Dougherty of Malvern, PA and Michael Dougherty of NJ; daughters, Denise (Cip) Cipollone of Voorhees, NJ and Rita Reily of Williamstown, NJ; sons, Daniel, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, Arthur (Nancy) Pisko of Deptford, NJ; grandchildren, Kathleen, Brett, Eric, Katie, Michelle, Pasquale, Nicholas, Sharon, Daniel III (Deanna), Joseph V, Kristina and Arthur, Jr.; sisters, Joan (Jim) Van Loben sels of Carmel, CA and Lillian (Joe) DeLuca of Cherry Hill, NJ; sister-in-law, Delores Pisko of CO along with his many cousins, especially "my cousin John" and Chris Stuebing. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Catherine Pisko and brother, Joseph Pisko.

Relatives and friends will gather Sunday morning April 19th from 11:30 to 12:30pm in the Schetter Funeral Home 304 W. Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Funeral service Sunday 12:30pm. Please visit schet terfh.com to share your condolences with the family.
