AGE: 99 • West Collingswood
On January 5, 2016, of West Collingswood, NJ. Age 99 years. Beloved son of the late Walter and Augusta Balliet. Dear brother of the late Augusta Ruth Balliet. He is also lovingly survived by the Bowley, Emers, Noon, Cox and Cristaldi families, his precious, Adriana, as well as his caregivers, Mary, Sharon and Janice.
In 1931, Walter entered the Patton School at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown, PA. After graduation, he worked as a tool and die maker for Bridge Tool and Die Company, Philadelphia, PA for over 32 years.
Friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday 9 to 10 AM at FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Memorial Service will follow at 10 AM. Inurnment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in Walter's memory to The Center for Art in Wood, 141 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19106.

I met Walter when I was walking my dog several years ago. I found him laying on his back in his yard surrounded by a hedge clipper and clippings from a holly bush he was trimming. I helped him to his feet and our friendship began. After spending some time with him, I learned that this quiet, humble, and very gentle man had an extraordinary life.
He gave me a pill box with a beautifully etched top he made as a prototype for an artist in California. I learned that his work with this artist gained him a national reputation among wood turners, and was quite an art form. We had the honor of attending a lecture at the Wood turner Museum in Philadelphia that featured a discussion from Walter and a remarkable display of his work.
I am sadden by his departure from this earth, but grateful to have known this very special, sweet, dear man.

Mr. Balliet was one of the dearest and most kindest of souls. I thank God for allowing me the pleasure of living in his presence. We enjoyed many long talks about his life, for which I am grateful.
He is at peace now, reunited with the family that truly loves him and for that I give praise and glory to God.
You will be missed my friend!
