Eleanor Schaefer Obituary
AGE: 93 • formerly of Oaklyn
On December 17, 2016, (nee Behnke) of Lackawaxen, PA and formerly of Oaklyn, NJ, age 93.
She was the beloved wife, for 61 years, of the late Edward W. Schaefer, loving mother of Patricia Pontz (the late Curt) of Blackwood, NJ and Jeffrey Schaefer (Cathy) of Lackawaxen, PA and beloved sister of the late Oscar Behnke. She is also survived by 8 dear grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Eleanor was born and raised in Barrington and she was a member of Athene Chapter #201 OES since 1960. She and husband Edward were the former owners of the Oaklyn Specialty Co., a tool and die shop in Bellmawr.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 400 WHITE HORSE PIKE, OAKLYN, NJ. Eleanor's Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers her family suggests memorial donations be made to the NJ Eastern Star Home, 111 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Great memories of our "Den Mother". Both your parents were such great influences on me as a young kid. Fostering the love of nature and fishing which I am so fond of to this day. Trips to the NY World's Fair, the gun club and into the Pine Barrens, were some of the great highlights of my youth. My thoughts to you, Pat and your families.

I am so sorry to her of Eleanor's passing. When we have our Mother's for so many years we think it will be forever. Know that it will be as you will remember her everyday with love. You are all in our hearts and prayers.

We are so very sorry to hear of Aunt El's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her, and Uncle Ed. We are very sorry that we can't attend the viewing or services (we will be out of town), but we will be there in our hears. Our sincere condolences to everyone.
