John L. Schapker Evansville, Indiana John L. Schapker, 88, of Evansville passed away Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Deaconess Hospice Center. He was born November 8, 1925 in St. Wendel, IN to John and Anna (Seib) Schapker. John retired from International Steel. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Henrico. He was a member of VFW 1114 and the American Legion. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was past president of Owl's Post #30. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, St. Louis Cardinal's and Indianapolis Colts. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Irvin who was killed in action during WWII and other brothers, Alfred, Paul, Art and Syl. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bettye (Kissel) Schapker; daughters, Becky Helfrich (Randy), Jackie Chipps (Randy) and Mary Beth Schapker; sons, Mike Schapker (Debbie) and Tom Schapker (Kathy) all of Evansville; grandchildren, Tracey Will, Julie Maller, Aaron, Brian and Nick Schapker, Andrea Raffery, Lindsay Hurt, John Helfrich, Matthew and Corey Chipps; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Marcellus, Oliver, Jim and Jerry Schapker; sister, Barbara Dassel and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 pm Friday April 25, 2014 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710 and will continue from 9:30 - 10:00 Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N Wabash Ave, Evansville, IN 47712. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Saturday April 26, 2014 at the church with Fr. Kenneth Herr officiating. After Mass the Retired Veteran Memorial Club will conduct services at the church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Stephen Titzer, Deaconess Hospice Staff and Fr. Kenneth Herr. Margaret Ann Sharp Evansville, Ind. Margaret Ann Sharp, 67, of Evansville, passed away at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Margaret was born February 24, 1947, In Tampa, Florida. She was a 1967 graduate of North High School and a member of Bethel Temple Community Church. Margaret retired from Mead Johnson after 25 years in the research center. Margaret had a love for reading her bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to dinner with friends, baking, and watching "Everybody Loves Raymond". She is survived by son, Chad Sharp (Denna), of Evansville, sister, Mary Helms (Terry), of Evansville; sister-in-law, Jan Sharp, of Evansville; grandchildren, Gersham and Janay Sharp; stepgrandchildren, Carlie and John Dore; niece and nephew, Marci Scheller (Mike), of Evansville, and Otis Sharp (Justina), of Highland, IL; and many loving cousins and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth (Keown) Edlin; brother, David Sharp; and grandson, Terry Sharp. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend David Schwambach officiating. Frances Steele Mount Vernon, Ind. Frances Steele, age 86, of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday evening April 23, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born October 20, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Ruth (Allen) Hutchins. She married Kermit L. Steele May 31, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2001. Frances was a founding member of the Mt. Vernon First Nazarene Church. She had worked at A&P Supermarket in Evansville for 18 years and Hironimus Food Market in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by her son, Kevin (Bobbie Jo) Steele, of Evansville; her daughter, Karen Lawson, of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Tina (Jon) Parker, Tony (Joy) Alldredge, Rob (Michelle) Rowland and Darcy (Kaci) Rowland; seven great-grandchildren, Bryce and Max Alldredge, Chelsea and Cam Parker, Quinn, Daycia and Kanyon Rowland; two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Owen TeVault; one sister, Lillian Cox, of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Andrew Hutchins; and one sister, Faye Loggains. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 26, 2014, at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, with Mark Tabor officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services. In lieu of flowers memorials are sugggested to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
