Albert Earl Bryant, 81, of Rockport, Ind., passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013.
Albert was born in Union Star, Ky., on November 4, 1931, to the late William "Doc" and Louise (Ammons) Bryant.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He was a faithful life member of the Rockport American Legion Post 254 and was very active with the color guard. Albert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from Whirlpool after 38 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Ida Bell Bryant, Mary Kraft, Ruth Sandage, Virgie Hoosier.
Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roma Bryant, of Rockport, Ind.; children, Deby Lawson and her husband, Dick, of Rockport, Ind., Edward Bryant and his wife, Barbara, of LaGrange, Ky., Jeffery Bryant and his wife, Angela Jo, of Rockport, Ind.; grandchildren, Jessica Strobel and her husband, Matt, Shelby Bryant, Haylee Bryant; great-grandchildren, Noah Strobel, Isaac Strobel; siblings, Bessie Kellems, of Lamar, Ind., Frances Cronin, of Rockport, Ind., Daisy Meredith, of Rockport, Ind., Linda Burden, of Rockport, Ind., William "Dick" Bryant, of Ark., Kenny Bryant, of Fla.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., with Rev. Carl Jones officiating. Burial is in Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport, Ind. The Rockport American Legion Post 254 will conduct military honors.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013, and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockport American Legion Post 254.
