Billy D. Gill
Billy D. Gill, 79, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, at his home in Chandler.
Billy was born in Graham, Ky., on September 12, 1934 to his parents, James Presley and Verlie (Jarvis) Gill.
He worked 38 years for Inland Container Corp., was a member of International Paper Workers Local 1046 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict
Billy enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, cutting firewood and going to the Chandler Jaycees spot shoots. He loved being with his family, watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He was a loving father and family man.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Robbie McClure, Adelle Underwood, Edna Winstead, Aureada Stevens, Mary Matheney; and brothers, Parnell and Tunny Gill.
Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Marie (Allen) Gill; daughter, Melody Thomas; sons, James Gill, Jerry (Melinda) Gill and Michael (Sheila) Gill; grandchildren, Jordan, Kelsey, Keaton and Parker Gill, Nick Thomas, Austin and Lyla Gill; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Koehler Funeral Home - Perigo Chapel 7022 Heim Rd. Chandler, IN. with Pastor Kenton Daugherty officiating.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday at Koehler Funeral Home - Perigo Chapel in Chandler.
Burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler with military rites.
