Carrie Metzger Rice, age 99, died surrounded by family Friday Oct. 5, 2012 at Transcendent Healthcare in Boonville, IN.
She was borned on a farm in Warrick County on May 9th, 1913 to Henry W. Metzger and Maude Bates Metzger.
She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary's Church in Evansville where she was a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Parish Society and was Treasurer for 16 years. She worked at G.A. Beard and Chrysler and was a member of the Chrysler Retiree Club. She was a member of Little Sisters of the Poor, Daughters Of Isabella (The Crown), VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Boonville and life member of the National Federation of the Blind.
She liked flowers and raised them and gave them away to family and friends, she also enjoyed card parties.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Arthur J. Rice, five Brothers, Bill, Clint, Edward, Hank & Gene Metzger, two Sisters, Katherine Graham & Jane Seib.
Carrie is survived by one Sister, Helen Pike Tornatta, Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, Great-Great Nieces and Nephews and many Friends and Caregivers.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday Oct. 8, 2012 from St. Clement Catholic Church in Boonville with Rev. Lowell Will officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel and from 9:00 AM until service time Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church.
