Charles "Jack" Doss, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. He was born February 10, 1925, in Dawson Springs, Ky.
He was a life time member of Bluegrass United Methodist Church. He served overseas with the United States Coast Guard and Navy during World War II. Jack retired from Whirlpool after 38 years. He was an avid bowler and a true blue Kentucky fan. He took extreme pride with the care of his yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Doss in 2003; two sons, Monte Jon and Andy Ray Doss.
Jack is survived by daughter, Amy Bender-Hollen (Steve); son, Michael Jack Doss; daughter-in-law, Anita Guanti (Jim); grandchildren, Cory Doss, Jaimie Cheesebrow (Korey), Jennifer Coffman (Chad), and Jason Bender (Teresa); great-grandchildren, Callie, Mason, Kaitlin and Madeline.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Bluegrass United Methodist Church, 14240 Petersburg Rd. Evansville, IN. Reverend Doug Heiman will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to time of service at the church.
