George F. 'Frank' Berry, MD
George F. "Frank" Berry, MD, 77, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, with his family by his side at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Dr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents. Frank was born in Henderson, Ky., on August 30, 1936 to James Driscoll Berry and Aseneth Dodge Berry. He graduated from Barrett High School in 1954, from Murray State University in 1958, and from University of Louisville Medical School in 1962. After graduating medical school he started his internship at St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville, Ky. Frank served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy
from 1963 to 1965. He practiced medicine from 1965 to 2001 in Kentucky and Indiana, retiring from the VA Clinic in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Alice (Hust) Berry, of Evansville, Ind.; children, Frank Berry, Jr. and Mike Berry Both, of Newburgh, Ind., and Elizabeth Berry (William Jenkins) Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Betsey Lesnikowski, of Vineyard Haven, Mass., Bobbye Tucker (Bob), of Carbondale, Colo., Virginia Heddens, of Denver, Colo., and Pat Hearring (Jim) Decatur, Ill.; a grandson, Joseph Berry, of Newburgh, Ind.; numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside services will be held and announced at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: Wounded Warriors Program, Evansville Rescue Mission, and/or Tri-State Food Bank. The family would like to express our most sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff in the ICU/ER at St. Mary's Medical Center. We would like to send a special thank you to nurses Brian and Jenny of the ICU for their loving care.
