Jerry Lee Helderman, 75, of Paris, Ill., passed away at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in his residence. He was a farm hand for Charlie Klein, Steve and Don Decker, the Ice and Staley Hog Complex and Heartland Pork. He also worked at Simonton Window for five years and retired from Simonton. He was a member of the Oaktown Methodist Church in Oaktown, Ind. Mr. Helderman enjoyed fishing, woodworking, hunting, camping, mushroom hunting, and playing dice and cards.
Born March 20, 1938 in Vincennes, Ind., he was the son of the late Lloyd and Anna (Like) Helderman. He married Phyllis Ann (Young) Helderman March 30, 1957 in Emison, Ind., and she survives.
Other survivors include his children, Pamela Jo Ann Racop and her husband, Steve, of Flat Rock, Ill., Joyce Marie McCarter and her husband, Jim, of Wheatland, Ind., Janice Marie Nowaskie and her husband, Herb, of Vincennes, Ind., Barbara Ellen Green and her husband Randy, of Vincennes, Ind., and Terry Lee Helderman and his wife, Rochelle, of Paris, Ill.; siblings, Jack Helderman, of Spencer, Ind., Roberta Evans, of Monroe City, Ind., Rita Woolard, of Freelandville, Ind., Lucille Cornelious, of Elnora, Ind., and Howard Helderman, of Freelandville, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and was expecting one great-grandchild.
Visitation for Mr. Helderman will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (CST) Monday, December 16, 2013 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, 303 East Wood Street Paris, Ill.
Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Gardner Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street Vincennes, Ind.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Gardner Brockman Funeral Home, Vincennes, Ind.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Ind.
