Jerry Herron, 70, of Boonville, Ind., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital.
Jerry was born in Evansville, Ind., on September 3, 1942, to the late Leonard and Carrie (Travis) Herron. He was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and then served in the United States Navy
from 1960 to 1963. Jerry retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 41 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and spent the winter months in Kissimmee, Fla. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post #200 in Boonville, the Evansville Athletic Club, and the Fendrich Men's Club. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved being out doors, golfing, fishing or hunting.
Jerry is survived by a stepdaughter, Misti (Keith) Ewin; twins, Christopher and Christina Swarens; sister, Wilma Karch; brothers, Rev. Charles Franklin Herron and Leroy Herron; grandchildren, Bayli and Dean Ewin; nieces and nephews, Becky, Russell, Kathy, Lee Anna, Charles Leroy, Bobby, Suzie, Tommy, Judy, Sara and Michael.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna D. Herron in 2008; sister, Geneva Wright; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Herron.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Browning Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service on Thursday.
