Johnny Adams, 65, Henderson, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He was a member of Hyland Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force
after 23 years active duty and 2 ? years active reserves. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Medals with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, and Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters.
After retiring from the Air Force, Johnny had worked at the Kentucky Lottery for 5 years and at Gibbs Die Casting for 5 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. His grandchildren were his greatest delight.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn; two daughters, Amanda Redding and her husband, Jeff, of Evansville, and Melody Aldinger and her husband, Robert, of Kutztown, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mary Havener, of Owensboro; one brother, Palmer Adams, of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Elijah, Jackson, Olivia and Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Kenny Kidd will officiate. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville at noon Wednesday.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Red Cross Cardinal Chapter, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Big Brothers of Evansville, and Hyland Baptist Church.
