Larry G. Coleman
Larry G. Coleman, age 71, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at home with his family by his side.
He was an Evansville All-Star football player from F.J. Reitz High School in 1958. He then went on to play football at Indiana University
from 1960 to 1962. After graduating from college he became the second Evansville football player to sign a professional contract with the Chicago Bears.
He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed spending his mornings at Twin Towers with his co-members. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Jimtown Bar watching sporting events. Larry loved to play golf. He retired from the Evansville City Garage as a foreman after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by Donald Coleman, Charles Coleman, Bill Coleman, Ramona Zapata, Betty Coleman and Bonnie Heimbuecher.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Jo Ann Coleman; sisters, Tonya (Wayne) Broderhausen and Jennifer (Marvin) Sosa; brother, Paul (Cheryl) Coleman; son, Michael; stepchildren, Julie Littlepage, Kim Kinchel, and David Mabrey, who took care of him at home; grandchildren, Jeremy Kinchel, Josh Kuhr, and his favorite Linsi Kinchel, who he raised as his own.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Deaconess Hospice, especially Melissa.
Larry wished to be remembered as everyone knew him, and therefore asked to not be given any showing or funeral services. Pierre Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
