Mary Lou Blevens, 88, of Vincennes, formerly of Linton, passed away on Dec. 28, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born May 7, 1924, in Demotte, the daughter of Frederick and Frances (Davis) Cheever.
Robert Lawrence Blevens, age 81, of Vincennes, and formerly of Linton, passed away on Nov. 10, 2006, in Evansville. He was born Dec. 12, 1924, in Sandborn, the son of Lawrence and Lester (Sparks) Blevens.
They were married on June 6, 1948. Mary Lou and Robert were both of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Linton and Vincennes, & he was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Linton and Vincennes, Past Master in Linton. He loved wood working and did furniture repair at the Vincennes Senior Citizen Center. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. Mary Lou was a homemaker, and during her earlier years, she worked at the Rexall Drug Store in downtown Linton, and Robert retired from Indiana Bell Telephone.
They are survived by two sons, Marc (Monica) Blevens of Austin, TX, and Fred (Charlene) Blevens of Miramar, FL, one daughter, Marsha (Robert) Conner of Edmond, OK, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
They were preceded in death by their parents, and Mary Lou was also preceded by a sister, Doris Farris, and an infant brother.
A private graveside service will be conducted Saturday at Fairview Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton prior to the service.
