Richard C. Utley
Richard C. Utley, 81, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, at his home.
Richard was born in Evansville, Indiana, on July 19, 1931, to the late Cletus L. and Irene (Hunt) Utley. He graduated from Central High School and Parks Technical School. Richard served in the United States Air Force
during the Korean Conflict
and retired from Faultless Caster and Airtex Products where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, was an accomplished woodworker, an avid Colts and Cardinals fan and any sport his grandchildren were in.
Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy (Kennada) Utley; son, Greg (Jackie) Utley, of Evansville; sister, Nancy (Ed) Young, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; grandchildren, Katherine Utley, James (Elissa) Utley, Mariah Utley and Jacob Utley; great-granddaughter, Ayden Dumes; stepgreat-grandson, Eli Vincent; aunt, Marcia Utley of Evansville; and by many nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Temme.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan St., with Rev. Chad Eckels officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will provide military rites.
Friends may visit from 2 until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday.
