Robert "Bob" F. Ryan
Robert "Bob" F. Ryan, 81, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence.
Bob was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 6, 1931 to the late Frank and Margaret (Poett) Ryan. He graduated from Central High School and retired from the United States Air Force
after 20 years, serving in the Vietnam War
. Bob then worked as an auto mechanic for the McCamish family for 23 years. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, fixing old cars and traveling. At the age of 64, Bob built his own home located on Heinlein Road where him and his wife, Sue lived. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue M. (Barclay) Ryan of Evansville, IN; daughters, Vicky L. (Mike) Dearmond of Evansville, IN, Connie Williams of Mobile, AL, Sara (Scott) Perigo of Pittsburgh, PA; son, David Ryan of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Petra Ryan of Prattville, AL; sister, Dana Baggett of Evansville, IN; brother, Tommy Ryan of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Bradfield, Katie Patchin (Seth), Patrick Ryan, Patrick Bolin, Daniel Ryan, Dawn Hurlbut (David), Becky Elmes (George), Emily Norris (Brian), Nathan Williams, Maggie Williams, Shawn Perigo, Shelby Perigo and Shayna Perigo; great grandchildren, Tylor and Kiley Bradfield, Parker and Logan Norris, Haley and Michael Elmes; nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randy Ryan.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery at a later date where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until service time on Tuesday.
