Rodney Wayne Butler

Rodney Wayne Butler, 78 of Nortonville, passed away Tuesday March 19,, 2013 at home with his loved ones by his side. He was born in Nortonville on March 3, 1935. He was the son of the late Arnold and the late Nevlyn (Sewell) Butler. Mr. Butler was married to Sue Rodgers for 52 wonderful years. He was an Army veteran, and a member of First Church of God in Madisonville. He was a retired mine superintendent for Peabody Coal Company. Rodney loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Sue (Rodgers) Butler; two daughters, Cindy (Alan) Crick, and Tammy (Mike) Gates of Nortonville; one sister, Jean Franklin Long of Nortonville; four grandchildren, Chad Crick, T.J. Crick, Cody Gates, and Kylee Gates Markham; and eight great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rachel White.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Bandy Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert White officiating. Interment will be Saturday in Good Hope Cemetery, Nortonville. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8pm and Saturday from 10am-1pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Alan Crick, Chad Crick and T.J. Crick, Mike Gates, Cody Gates, Jerry Hicks, Kylee Markham, Ricky Franklin, and Danny White. Honorary Pallbearers are Preslee and Hadley Markham, Jett Gates, Austin and Cole Crick, Carson Dossett, Taylor and Tori Crick, Jackie Rodgers, Dick Adams, and Wayne Adams.
