Ronald "Ron" Paul Murphy, 59, passed away November 10, 2013 in Belvidere, Ill. at the home of his daughter, Charlene.
Ron attended schools in Adel, Iowa, elementary and middle school in Des Moines, Iowa, high school in Harvard, Ill, and was a graduate of Harrison High School in Evansville. He attended Indiana University. Ron earned his Eagle Scout award in 1969 at the age of 14. He used his multiple musical talents to write, sing and play songs of praise to God.
Ron is survived by his parents, Paul R. (Rita) Murphy and Shirley (Dewey) Kelley all of Evansville; his son, David A. Murphy, daughters, Erin Murphy, Valerie (John) Buckle, Christina (Jon) Markesee, and Charlene (Mike) Widell and their mother, Bonnie Oost Murphy and 8 grandchildren all of the Rockford area; sisters, Kathleen Murphy, Orange City, Fla, Phyllis Murphy, Orlando, Fla, and a brother, Roy Stivers, Hawaii.
Memorial services will be held at his church, First Presbyterian, in Belvidere 4 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013.
