Ruth Humphrey(1912 - 2013)

Ruth Humphrey 100, of 205 Upton Lane; Livermore, Kentucky died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her home. Ila Ruth Taylor was born July 25, 1912 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late J.W. and Phoebe Bates Taylor, was married to Raymond Harold Humphrey on October 22, 1935, and was better known as "Mama Ruth" by both her family and friends. Ruth was a homemaker, helped on the family farm alongside her husband, and a member of the Livermore Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends, cooking, crocheting, fishing, and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball Fan. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Humphrey who died August 24, 1998; by a son, Curtis "Curtie" Humphrey; and by a great granddaughter, Rebecca Ruth May.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Lester and Wanda Humphrey and Carl and Tena Humphrey both of Livermore; two daughters, Ella Jean Cox and Nadine Jennings and husband, Nathel both of Livermore; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and two nephews, Bill Taylor and Chad Owen both of Livermore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Clive Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with Ruth's family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Livermore.
The Ruth Humphrey family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Livermore Missionary Baptist Church, Building Fund; P.O. Box 287; Livermore, Kentucky 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.
