Wayne Eric Fiester, 66, of Newburgh, Indiana, devoted husband and father, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born March 13, 1947, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Indiana. He was the son of Donald and Edith Fiester. Wayne graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management and Economics. He spent his professional career in sales and marketing management. Wayne was an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where he served the congregation in a variety of capacities. His civic involvement included serving as president of Historic Newburgh Kiwanis, member of Evansville Chamber of Commerce, founding member of Human Resources Consulting Group, member and vice president of Old Dam Community Band, music director of Little Old Dam Dixieland Band, member of Owensboro Youth Symphony, member of Owensboro Community Band, past president of Evansville Bicycle Club, past Board of Directors member of Henderson County American Red Cross, Kentucky Colonel, Past Board of Directors member of Indiana Bicycle Coalition, past president of Princeton Youth Soccer League, and co-chair of Partners in Education of Gibson County.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nance; and their three children, Herb (Anne), of Valdosta, Georgia, Heather (James) Cullen, of Avon, Indiana, and Max (Dusty) Fiester, of Newburgh, Indiana; grandchildren Caleb, Matthew, Abby, and Silas Cullen and Lauren, Jack, and Brady Fiester; sister, Fran (Mike) McDowell, of Washington, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Holly (Cody) Barrett; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Lipko, Frank Shane, Jim Chapman and Tracy (Ruth) Lipko. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Edith Fiester.
Friends may call from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN.
A remembrance of his life will begin at 5 p.m. followed by a service of witness to the resurrection with Reverend Dr. Dennis Davenport officiating. Burial will be private.
