I only knew Kris through the Genealogy Dept. at the Rockport-Spencer Co. Library but was deeply saddened to learn on my visit there today that she is no longer with us. What a loss to genealogy community. I can only imagine the loss that her loved ones are experiencing. My deepest sympathy.

Gary, Mike and Matt,
I am so torn with the passing of Kris. She was such a dear friend over the years and I regret that we lost the last few years by not working together. Even though she literally left her boots in the muddy cornfield while we were searching cemeteries, she left her sweet footprints on my heart, Forever. Praying for your comfort at this time. I did not get to know Kristine well, but I saw her as a very gracious lady. She helped me much with my genealogy. In doing so, it seemed she enjoyed it as much as I did. I really appreciated her help.
I will miss her, but of course the words are bland in comparison to the feelings of you, her family. God be with each of you, in you great loss.

Kris visited the Kentucky Room at the Daviess Co. (KY) Public Library many times over the years. I always enjoyed visiting with her plus talking genealogy. Her laugh and smile were always a blessing to me. She will certainly be missed in the genealogy world.

We knew Kristine from purchasing her genealogy books for our Pike Co Public Library for many years, plus from the various libraries getting together every four months for joint meetings.

Never once did Kristine not have a smile and a kind greeting to present you with. Kristine never told once of her cancer or talked of her pain. I had been told by another library staff member, from another library, but Kristine never told anyone.

Kristine took her pain and suffering alone, how brave she was! Her children can be proud how well liked she was, always with such a splendld smile.

We will truly miss Kristine and we offer our heartfelt condolences to her husband, Gary and her two sons.

To all of the family members of Kristine. I send you my deepest sympathy in the loss of Kristine. I went to high school with her and I remember her as always being so much fun. My folks { LeRoy and Marie Calkins } were great friends of her parents and we also knew each other as we were little kids growing up. She left this world far to early. May God give you the strength to get through this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Pat "Calkins" Klein
