Jackson Archer Obituary
90, of Loogootee, went to be with his Lord and Savior, and wife Bonnie on July 27, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the Loogootee Nursing Center. He was born on October 3, 1921 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to Lucas and Oda (Hall) Archer. He married Bonnie Smith on December 20, 1958 in Shoals, Indiana and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2006.
Jack was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving with the 605th Medical Clearing Company in World War II in New Guinea, South Philippines, Luzon and Leyte. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
Jack was a member and faithful attendee of Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee. He served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman for thirty years, and received an award for 65 years as a member of the #669 Sprinkler Fitters Road Union, after working 37 years as a Sprinkler Fitter, twenty-two years of which he was a foreman.

Pearl Tallman of Ravenswood, West VA.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, parents, one grandson Joshua Kirk, and a sister Alice Pritchett.

Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Lee Funeral Home in Loogootee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service with Pastor Jim Lilly officiating. Loogootee American Legion and V.F.W. will conduct military rites at Goodwill Cemetery, where Mr. Archer will be entombed.
Preferred Memorials are to Gideon's International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
