Lavergne Johnson, 90, of Chandler, IN passed away Monday morning, October 24, 2016 at the Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville, IN.
She was born in Royalton, IL on April 28, 1926, the daughter of Clyde Thomas & Mary Elta (Butler) Mason.
She married Walter T. "Jack" Johnson on December 6, 1944, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1993.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Chandler Nazarene Church in Chandler, IN.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter: Tammy Boruff & husband David of Boonville, IN; son: Bruce Johnson & wife Lisa of Evansville, IN; 4 Grandchildren, Joshua Winsett & wife Solve`, Shelby Joest & husband Paul, Alicia Johnson, Lindsay Johnson; 2 Step-Grandchildren, Willie Boruff (Samantha), Lance Adams (Kayti); Great-Grandchildren, Emery Joest, Maddie & Bryson Adams, 2 other great-granchildren on the way; Sister: Mattie Biggs of Royalton, IL; Sister-in-law: Karen Etherton; many nieces, nephews and Cousins that she adored.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 2 Sisters-Estelle Duncan & husband William and Lemadale Menghini & husband Frank, by a Brother-Bob Mason, by a Brother-in-law-Bob Biggs, by Nephews-Bobby Ryan Mason & Bob Jones & by a Niece-Loma Talley.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 28th at the Chandler Nazarene Church 204 North 4th Street Chandler, IN with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Dennis King & Rev. Michael Bell officiating. There will also be a service at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29th at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, IL with Rev. Donnie Colson officiating. Visitation for that service will be after 12 Noon on Saturday at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will follow in the Miners Cemetery in Royalton, IL.
In lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to the Chandler Nazarene Church.
