Norma Jean Smith "Nonie", 87, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital. She was born April 5, 1928 to Arnold and Mellie (Robling) Stegner.
Norma was a member of the Beacon Church of the Nazarene and the Ladies Lift Foster Children Association.
In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Reverend Samuel Presley Smith, son Timothy Smith, grandson, Ryan Smith, siblings; Janette May Hayes, and Bobbi Jo Stegner.
She is survived by her daughters; Pamela (George) Meyer, E. Kimberly (Steven) Miller, son, Reverend Samuel (Marlene) Smith, daughter-in-law, Loretta Smith, grandchildren; Misty Dawn Meckert, Christopher E. Meyer, Lee Daniel Smith, Michelle Renee Joest, Matthew Joseph Smith, Nathaniel Miller and Caitlyn Smith, eleven great-grandchildren, sisters; Barbara Lee Dowling, Marilyn Joyce Rawley, and uncle, Bud Robling.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, and will continue on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 North First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Church of the Nazarene, 3313 Covert Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.

I will always remember what a sweet lady she was. She was my sister Loretta's mother in-law. I always enjoyed chatting with her when she came to visit with my sister, We will miss her so much. My thoughts and prays are with the whole family.

To Norma's family. I met Norma as my neighbor at Leisure Living. She always called me "Pretty Lady". We had many chats, I took her food and I thought a lot of her. I will miss her. Enjoy your life in heaven Norma joined again with Sam.
