Bernice 'Bea' Belcher
Evansville, Ind.
Bernice "Bea" Belcher, 98, of Evansville passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Little Sisters of the Poor. She was born September 8, 1915, in Evansville to Ben and Minnie (Maikranz) Lamey.
Bea received a musical scholarship to Academy of Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Ind. She and her husband owned and operated The Spaghetti Bowl restaurant in downtown Evansville for several years until they moved to Boulder, Colo. Bea volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor and was an officer in the Legion of Mary.
Bea was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry and Clifton Belcher; grandson, Andrew "A.J." Emond; sister, Frances Thornberg and parents.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Emond (René), of Glendale, Ky., and Bernita Muller, of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, David, Autie, Danny, Scott, Steve and Brenda; 22 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Little Sisters of the Poor, 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, Ind., 47714 with funeral service to follow. Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 will be handling the arrangements.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Sisters and staff of Little Sisters for their loving care.
