Bertha Mae (Neumann) Dame, age 90, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital.
Mrs. Dame had worked at Fendrich Cigar and later, Crescent Plastics before retiring in 1992. She was a member of the VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lady Owls.
Surviving are her son, Larry (Rita) Neumann of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Alberta Matlock of Evansville; three sisters, Agnes Luigs of St. Wendel, Antoinette Barr of Evansville and Marcella "Sally" Guess of Haubstadt; four brothers, Sylvester Neumann of Evansville, Lawrence Neumann of Florissant, MO, Harold (Rosie) Neumann of St. Wendel and John (Elizabeth) Neumann of Newburgh. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michell (Grady) Murphy, Michael Vincent Neumann, Laura (Doug) Edwards and Darren Matlock; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dame in 1979; her parents, Charles and Clara (Glaser) Neumann; two sisters, Rosalia Simpkins and Madeline Rexing and brothers, Bill Neumann and Hugo Neumann.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Pierre Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2013, Rev. Theodore Tempel officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute at the University of Louisville, 302 E. Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40202.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Harbor Unit at the Heritage Center for the compassionate care they gave to Bertha Mae.
