Billy J. Meyer, 65, of Evansville passed away Monday August 20, 2012, at his daughter's residence in Newburgh, Ind.
Billy was a retired carpenter working at Elpers and Sons and enjoyed woodworking in his shop at home. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and member of VFW 1114. He attended Saint Peters UCC, Darmstadt. Billy enjoyed being with his family especially his six grandchildren and working on the farm with his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Evelyn Meyer; and brother Jerry Meyer.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Windi J. Watts (Steve), of Newburgh; son, Kirk L. Meyer (Erin), of Evansville; grandchildren, Tiffany, Ashley and Natalie Watts, Reece, Kord and Berklee Meyer; mother of his children, LaDonna Ramsey (Keith), of Evansville; brothers, Ronnie, Junior, Roger, Steve, Rickey, Kenny and Jeff Meyer; sisters, Judy Allen and Phyllis Berfanger; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday August 24, 2012, at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Buschkill officiating.
Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services.
