Charles W. Dewig
Fort Branch, Ind.
Charles W. Dewig, age 63, formerly of Haubstadt, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at his home in Fort Branch.
The eldest of seven children, he was born in Evansville, on June 17, 1953, to the late William and Helen (Tiepe) Dewig. Charles was formerly employed at Dewig Meats.
He was a musician and enjoyed all types of music especially big band and brass band music.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Paul, in June 2016.
Charles is survived by his wife, Tamara (Long) Dewig, of Haubstadt; one daughter, Sasha (Levi) Haltom, of Terre Haute; two sons, Nick and Ben Dewig, both of Haubstadt; three sisters, Sharon Spindler, Rosemary Weber and Diane Hornby, all of Haubstadt; two brothers, Kenny, of Johnson, and Gary, of Haubstadt; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, at Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Haubstadt. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

I met Charles in the early 70's @ IU Bloomington. He was in the IU Marching 100. Great guy, funny, and totally authentic.
