Obituary

Charles "Big Boy" Harvey 65, of 131 Morris Road; Island, Kentucky died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his home. Charles Benny Harvey was born September 13, 1947 in Island, Kentucky to the late Charles William "Granny" and Opal Lamb Harvey and was better known as "Big Boy" by both his family and friends. Big Boy was a coal miner, a member of Island Baptist Church, and a member of Island Lodge # 743 F. & A.M. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a recipient of three Bronze Stars, and also enjoyed both hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Dawn Harvey-Grundy and her husband, Chuck of Carrollton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Jim Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415. Friends may visit with Big Boy's family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Thursday at Musters in Livermore. Masonic services for Big Boy will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Musters in Livermore.
The Charles "Big Boy" Harvey family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Operation Smile; 6435 Tidewater Drive; Norfolk, VA 23509. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.
