Christian Lee Papenmeier, age 15, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Christian was a sophomore at Mt. Vernon Senior High School and he loved his friends at school. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon, loved cars and trucks, the St. Louis Cardinals, attending the MDA Summer Camp, singing country music, watching Duck Dynasty and visiting his neighbors.
Surviving Christian are his parents, Warren L. and Mary Beth (Toelle) Papenmeier Jr.; grandparents, Barbara Papenmeier, of Wadesville, and Gerald and Beverly Toelle, of Mt. Vernon; aunts and uncles, Jeff and Sherri Scott, Tami and Skip Seaman, Jeff and Laurel Toelle, Lori and Mark Higgins, Mark Toelle, Chad Toelle, Kathy Meredith and Joanie and Gordon Simmons; and 26 cousins.
Christian was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren L. Papenmeier, in 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013, at St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 S. St. Philip Road, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620, Rev. Claude Burnes and Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 7 p.m. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at St. Philip Church.
