The Guest Book is expired.
Christine "Christy" Ann Jones, 52, of Elberfeld, Ind., entered into the eternal presence of peace and rest with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
She ended her seven year journey with colorectal cancer on this earth, and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, friends, and the prayers of many.
Christy was born June 27, 1961, in Evansville. She was always smiling and had touched the lives of all she met. She was previously employed at Louisville Tile in Evansville, Trinity Lutheran School in Darmstadt, Indiana and Scott Elementary School in Evansville. She enjoyed volunteering with 4-H as a leader, and with the Colon Club, which raises awareness of prevention of colon cancer in young adults and connects and encourages young adult survivors of colon cancer. She recently led Team Christy and received the largest team award and an award for the team that raised the most money in the Colon Run/Walk in Evansville in June, 2013. She always shared her journey to support others. Christy was actively involved as a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1979 and Lockyear Business College with a degree in accounting.
On May 8, 1993, she married the love of her life and biggest supporter, Karl Jones. She counted her two sons as one of the best blessings in her life.
Christy is survived by her husband, Karl Jones; and her two sons, Marshal Glen and Aaron Charles, all of Elberfeld. Other survivors include her mother, Esther (Wehmer) Jank; and her father, Charles Baumeyer, both of Evansville; two brothers, John (Donna) and David Baumeyer, both of Evansville; and a sister, Judy Unger, of Rosedale, Ind.
The family would like to extend thanks to all that helped make Christy's journey easier with thoughts, prayers, care giving, food and favors. Special thanks to Dr. Melinda Jackson, Dr. Tony Stephens, Dr. Joe Waling, Dr. James and Krista Waller, Shelly Donovan, Greta Jackson, Pastor Horstmeyer, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
