Donald Louis Miller
Evansville, Ind.
Donald Louis Miller, 84, passed peacefully at his home in Defuniak Springs, FL, on March 12, 2014.
Don was born to James and Hazel Miller in Evansville, March 10, 1930. He was a 1948 graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School. He served his country during the Korean war and was co-founder of A&D Distributors, being responsible for bringing Grippos Potato Chips to the Evansville area. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, post 1114. Don was an avid Golfer, retiring to New Port Richey, Florida, with Mary in 1992, where they both enjoyed playing the game daily. Don was also a big fan of the Wheel of Fortune and was still solving the puzzles like a champ. "Dancing Donnie" never met a stranger. His witty sense of humor will surely be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Mary E. Miller; and a daughter, Bea K. Pentzer.
Don is survived by a brother, Billy R. Miller; son, James R.(Jimmy) Miller, both of Evansville; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Jeffrey Culbreth, who lived with him in his home; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family asks that donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice of Crestview, Florida, for their outstanding comfort and care.
