Not sure what to say?

We were sorry to hear of Eloise's passing. We know that she will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Darrell remembers the wonderful times he had at the family dinners in the Barrick home, especially at holiday times. He did not get to know Eloise well, but knew that she followed in her mother's footsteps with being a warm and caring person. Her work compiling the Gilbert family history was very much appreciated. Our thoughts are with Eloise's family and friends. We know they have many beautiful memories of her.

I am very saddened at the loss of my very good friend for so many years. Eloise came to Evansville with her family a year after my husband brought me and our first baby daughter to his hometown. Eloise became a member of our sorority alumnae group and was active over the years. One of our sisters persuaded both of us to beocme members of DAR. Eloise and I sat at the same table at the luncheon meetings over the years. I have missed her greatly at the meetings I've attended in the last couple years. I also shared her interest in genealogy and in AAUW programs. Eloise was my "rock". She was always helpful with her vast knowledge of about everything and always knew the right thing to say. I want to extend my condolences to Eloise's family.

We are so sorry to hear of Eloise's passing. May the pain of her loss be eased by knowing that she has gone to a better place. The times we got together were too few and too short, but she always left me with some new family history and the desire to learn more. She was a lovely person whom we will all miss greatly. God bless you all.

While living in Evansville in the 1970's I counted Eloise among my good friends. We kept up via Christmas cards every year for a long time. My sincere condolences to Lowell & family.

Lowell
I will always remember Eloise as a kind and gentle woman that did not call the Police when David Vessell and I left a 100 pound Easter egg in your back yard. Actually, I had the opportunity to meet her a few times and she was always cordial with a good sense of humor. I hope that your health is stable and wish you the best.

All of the family dinners at the house in Chesterville, the Holidays we traveled to be together are all the more precious now. I still can't play cards, but we will all remember with Love.

I have known Eloise for about 30 years through the Tri-State Genealogical Society. She served in many capacities for the society, especially the Book Aquisition Committee. She was a very nice person to work with on the Board of Directors. She will be missed as a genealogist and as a friend. John G. West, President, Tri-State Genealogical Society

I had the pleasure of knowing Eloise in her many years of substitute teaching. We full-time Business teachers always called Eloise first when we had to be away. In the last few years I have enjoyed seeing her at DAR meetings. May God Bless you, her family. Know that her friends thought greatly of her.
