Hazel Blondell Bauer, 88, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Ind.
Hazel was born in Fredonia, Ky., on December 29, 1924, to Burley and Retta Herod. She married Adam Bauer on November 3, 1945. She was a homemaker, avid mall walker and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evansville, Ind.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Adam Bauer in 1998.
She is survived her children, Laure (Donnie) Meyer, of St. Henry, Frances (Don) Link, of Evansville and Stephen (Mary Ann) Bauer, of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Adam (Erin) Link, Emily (Willie) Souders, Edward (Abby) Meyer, Ben Meyer, Jeremy (Carrie) Meyer, Audrey Meyer and Jennifer (Robert) McCammon; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Felma Ruth Sprague.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., Evansville, IN 47710 and will continue from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 E. Virginia St., Evansville, IN 47711.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday February 8, 2013, at the church with Fr. Ron Kreilein officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
