Henry A. Orth, 82, of Owensboro, formerly of Evansville, passed away on June 20, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Mr. Orth was partner of Owensboro Auto Trim Shop, where he worked until the age of 81. He was in the auto upholstery business since the age of 14. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling stories, hunting, fishing, visiting with members of C Company veterans group of Evansville and checking local gas prices. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War where he served as Master Sergeant. He received the Purple Heart and Korean Service medal with battle stars, U.N. Ribbon. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, American Legion and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. Orth Sr. and Genevieve Brewer; a brother, Roy Orth; and sisters, La Vern Neilsen and Evelyn Hemmah.
Henry A. Orth "Buddy" is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary A. Feulner Orth, the love of his life; his children, Karen Evans, Steve (Sherry) Orth, Keith (Lauren) Orth and Jeff Orth, all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Kristina (Matt) Westerfield, Melody (Randy) Miller, Ross (Crystal) Evans, Nick Orth, Lyndsi (Philip) Eblehar, Katelyn Orth, Brittany (Nathan) Payne, Allyson (Torrey) Groomes, Kristen Orth, Hannah Orth and Tyler Orth; great-grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Emily Wilson, Keagan Adams, Aubrey Miller, Bryson Evans, Carter Evans, Cooper Ebelhar, Anna Payne, Eva Payne and Jonah Payne; bonus great-grandchildren, Cole Westerfield and Mason Westerfield; sisters, Dosha Sailer, of Indiana, Juanita Richardson, of Kansas, and Bonnie O'Neal, of California.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with Father Bruce McCarty officiating and entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis and Owensboro Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Monday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Prayers will be said Sunday at 5 p.m.
