James 'Jim' Robert Wedding Sr.
Newburgh, Ind.
James "Jim" Robert Wedding Sr., 92, of Newburgh, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Newburgh Healthcare. He was born on January 10, 1921, in Greenbriar, Ky.
Jim was a W.W.II Army Veteran serving in France and he was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Jim retired from Faultless Caster and worked several jobs to support his family. He was a hard worker and family man.
When Jim wasn't working he spent time with his family. He would drive several hours to Lincoln State Park to meet his family and then return to his next job.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and was involved with Cub Scouts when his children belonged.
Jim and his wife, Elizabeth, have served as positive and strong examples for their children and grandchildren to follow.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters; and three brothers.
Jim is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Louise (Wood) Wedding; children, James R. Wedding Jr., of West Salem, Ill., Anthony T. Wedding and wife, Pat, of Pryor, Okla., Michael D. Wedding and wife, Kelly, of Evansville, Roger D. Wedding and wife, Nancy, of Newburgh, Janmalyn Brown and husband, Michael, of Evansville, Stephen J. Wedding and wife, Lori, of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Dennis E. Wedding and wife, Cindy, of Chandler, Ariz., and Sharon L. Konopka and husband, Keith, of Chandler, Ind.; grandchildren, Donovan W. Wedding, of Owensboro, Ky., Jennifer R. Wedding, of Vineta, Okla., Julie A. Corzelius and husband, James, of Tulsa, Okla., Tara L. Carlisle and husband, Jason, of Wa., Nichole K. Wedding, of Newburgh, Jeffrey A. Wedding and wife, Krista, of Newburgh, Matthew B. Wedding, of Evansville, Daniel G. Wedding, of Spring, Texas, Jacob M. Wedding, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Carie A. Brown, of Evansville, Amy M. Brown, of Terre Haute, Ind., Trevor S. Wedding and Tyler S. Wedding, both of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Scott A. Wedding, Mesa, AZ, Heather L. Williams and husband, Steve, of Evansville, Micha D. Gardner and husband, Adam, of Evansville, Kassi G. Peerman and husband Jacob, of Indianapolis, and Caleb G. Konopka and wife, Alicia, of Crossville, Tenn.; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd, Newburgh, officiated by Father Joseph Ziliak with entombment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Rd 261, Newburgh, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m.
