John Jacob "Jerry" Bryan
Evansville, Indiana
John Jacob "Jerry" Bryan, 71, of Evansville, born January 6, 1941 to John Moore Bryan and Virginia Hartz Bryan, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Cypress Grove Nursing Home.
He graduated Memorial High School, class of 1959, and St. Edwards University in Austin Texas in 1963. He obtained an M.B.A. from Indiana University in 1965. Jerry was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation and Farm Bureau Refinery in Mt. Vernon as purchasing officer, and for a time, co-owned Chief Photo, located on the west side of Evansville. He was well read, and had a life-long interest in politics, local history, sports and his three sons, their wives and his 6 grandchildren.
He is survived by his three sons and their families: Dr. David E. Bryan (Shannon) of St. Louis, Missouri and their three children, Colin, Molly and Mary Katherine; Dr. Daniel Hartz Bryan (Stephanie) of Portland, Oregon and their two children, Katie and Max; and Douglas Bryan (Sarah) of Denver, Colorado, and their son Sam. Also surviving are his sister Sara Bryan Troutman of Louisville, Kentucky and his brother Thomas Hartz Bryan of Evansville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct graveside services.
