John was born June 17, 1963 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He moved with his family to Evansville in 1970. While, by occupation, he had his own business in heating and air, his heart was always in nature. John loved gardening, hiking, camping, fishing and hunting morel mushrooms. John was a wonderful person, a wonderful brother, son and friend. John was kind, gentle-spirited, loving, smart, fun and funny. He was down to earth and easy going. Everybody who met John loved him. He was selfless, generous and humble and never hesitated to help anyone.
John loved his family and friends. He particularly loved Grandma (Grace) Covell and she loved him especially , too. He spent many memorable vacations with his parents, siblings and friends in Florida and Upstate New York. One of John's most treasured places was his father's family farm in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. He felt it was magical and called it "God's country."
John was a warm-hearted, spiritual person and believed in the power of positivity. His smile was infectious. His memories meant everything and he loved to talk about the people and things he loved. John lived every day with love and had a heart of gold.
