Boonville, Ind.
Joseph W. Derr, 88, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 at his residence in Boonville.
Joe was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church.
He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of Boonville V.F.W. Post #3418, American Legion Post #200 and Boonville Elks Lodge #1180.
Joe retired as past owner from Vernon Corporation.
He enjoyed boating and golfing and was a member of Boonville Boat Club, Rolling Hills Country Club, Boonville Country Club.
Preceding in death were his parents, Albert & Agnes Derr and five sisters and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Anne (Maier) Derr, daughters, Karen Haugh, Diane Silke (Jack Vickery), son, Joe (Terri) Derr Jr., six grandchildren; Rob Siegel, Scott Silke (Missy), Deena Rinehart (Ross), Patrick Derr, Chris Derr (Brittany), Nick Derr, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Samples and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Friday, Sept. 27 at St. Clement Catholic Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services. Friends may call Thursday 3-8pm at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel and Friday 10am until funeral mass at the church. A Rosary Service will be 7pm Thursday.
The family wants to thank Gentiva Hospice staff, and his personal caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Clement Catholic Church Building Fund or Gentiva Hospice.
