Joseph Leo Pfeiffer, 71, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, unexpectedly at his residence.
Joe was born in St. Meinrad, Indiana on March 28, 1941 to the late Henry and Helen Pfeiffer. He served his country in the United States Army. Joe retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 38 years of service. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where he coached his daughters softball teams. He was also a member of Twin Towers, River Bend Association, Armstrong Retirees and Erie Canal Beagle Club. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and working on the family farm in St.Meinrad, IN. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting events.
Joe is survived by, his wife of 46 years, Ermalinda (Dilger) Pfeiffer, daughters, Paula Osterman (Matthew) and Nancy Daugherty (Scott), all of Evansville, IN; sister, Jane Merten (Bob); brothers, John Pfeiffer (Carolyn) and Ed Pfeiffer (Bernadette); grandchildren, Drew and Eric Osterman, Zach and Emma Daugherty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Road Evansville, IN 47710 with Father Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2-8 P.M. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville, IN 47711, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 P.M. by Deacon David Mayer. Friends may also visit from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church or St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, 767 E. Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47713.
