Joseph M. Titzer, age 81, of Evansville, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus.
Mr. Titzer had worked as a diesel mechanic for Titzer Truck Sales for over 20 years and for I-V Coaches for 23 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army 6th Armored Division serving during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a devoted Christian and a member of Bible Center Cathedral Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Virginia Devine, Mary (Steve) Conner, Millie (Douglas) Fisher and Martha (Ben) Morris, all of Evansville; four sisters, Martha (Gene) Shivers of Ben Wheeler, TX, Betty (Harold) Scheller of Poseyville, Mary Ann (Don) Scheu of Evansville and Catherine (Glen) Melot of Enumelau, WA and three brothers, George (Verna) Titzer of Evansville, Ralph (Shirley) Titzer and Carl Titzer, both of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jetina Frazier, Rene Curtis, Andrea Knight, Tara Utsey, Patrick Fisher, Ryan Fisher, Joshua Morris and Megan Morris; eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Letitia (Skeels) Titzer in 2007; two sons-in-law, Jesse Devine and Daniel Allen and a granddaughter, Jessi Jo Devine.
Funeral services for Joe will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Rick VanHoose officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
